STEREO

Well the Stereo demo was today at the Lair (burnsville) and I gotta say, those dudes fully killed it. It really made me realize that kids today have no idea what skateboarding even is. I was at the desk when a group of 12-13 year olds wandered away from the demo and were lurking. I asked "what are you guys doing up here? there's a demo going on in there!" a kid responded "it's not rail skating" I was like "it's not real skating?" "no, it's not rail skating". I just stood there in disbelief... I was like "we managed to get some of the best skaters in the world to stop by, and you kids don't even respect them enough to watch them? get the fuck out, you don't even deserve to skateboard."
I've realized even more know that the younger generation of kids look up to what they see on the x-games and the dew tour. They only know skateboarding as circus bullshit. If somebody isn't risking their nuts, it isn't worth watching. Well fuck a Danny Way. I'd rather watch Olly Todd skate a bank to ledge any day.
But, on the positive, it was good to see some local heads come out and support such a big name coming through the minneapolis area. Whodi, Tabari, Gus, among others made the trek down to Burnsville and reminded me that there are still some dudes around here that give a fuck. I mean Stereo doesn't bring in a crowd... but imagine if 93x said Ryan Sheckler was going to be in international falls taking a dump... there'd be 300,000 screaming fans driving 8 hours waiting for a scoop of sheckdog poop.
Well fuck, how's that for a rant?

Static III, super good part... but my only complaint is that "it isn't rail skating".
