Spring is really starting to feel like it's around the corner. Even if it's supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow. The weather is getting warmer and warmer.
I'm a really big fan of season changes, even when winter comes around I get really hyped for something new and different. Right now I'm really getting psyched for some thunderstorms. There's something really sick about hanging out on the patio with a sixer and watching a thunderstorm roll in.

So after work just about a million hours at the park, I'm enjoying a mini 4-day vacation.

KOTR converse dudes stopped in, and I gotta admit.. I fanned out a little bit over Kenny Anderson. That dude rules. I also am officially a Sammy Baca fan.
Speaking of vacations... dBong just got back from hanging out with his buddies Pauly D and The Situation over at the Jersey Shore. He's got his fist pumping dialed, and a hair cut that would make any self-loving guido jealous.

A very LONG OVERDUE street course rebuild has started at the park as of this week. The first new obstacle is an 8 foot quarter pipe to bank. It looks super sick. Volume Skateboards and Cal Surf team rider Jonathon Reese tore that shit to pieces without any masonite. Here's some highlights:

In other relations to Andrew Reynold's skateboard companies - on September 1st, make sure to stop by your local shop of choice/buy on iTunes/illegally download the release of Stay Gold. You can always choose the 3rd route, but this is one of those videos where the hard copy is well worth the money spent.

The first Street League came and went this weekend while most people could care less about the contest itself, the most admirable component to the event is how the obstacles and $50,000 are donated to the city of Phoenix to build a new plaza.

I'm sure the city of Minneapolis would love to rent out the Metrodump for a weekend, early next spring when it's completely vacant and I doubt any skateboarders would object to a legit skatepark in Minneapolis.

Speaking of legit skateparks, anybody know how the St. Cloud plaza construction is coming about?

I was slamming a MONSTER ENERGY last night while just opening a fresh case of MOBIL1 motor oil (shortly after a fully successful "double-pits-to-chesty"), when I thought to myself... "holy shit I think the x-games are on TV!"
And indeed they were...

"Skateboard BIG AIR??" I said to myself... I had been out of the xtreme-loop for a while, and didn't know what exactly it entailed...
All I can say is that in the last few years that I haven't been watching the x-games, the mass-media portrait of skateboarding has gotten pretty bizarre. Not a single skateboard company was a sponsor of the event... none of the stuntmen (yeah I said it!) were wearing skateboard company t-shirts. It's turned into some huge circus clusterfuck of backflips and AXE body spray.
It makes me wonder... if kids watching the x games think they want to learn how to skateboard, do they know where to find a mega ramp to learn on?
But in the end, I guess it's a wash... those kids are probably turds anyways.

Sherman here with Fulton on my side! We just fucking drove 15 hours after the all nighter and made it to Colorado!!! We met up with volume skateboard team and are here for a week to get clips and camp out! Baby legs is sick already! Wish him luck...

Go sweatboarding day turned out to be a decent success. TheHESH got to toss out some dollars for some tricks and everything stayed really positive. I've got some iphone clips and photos that will be up within the next couple days.
